The Subnet Music Project is an experiment blending technology and music. Several music artists have come together to provide a unique auditory experience to place on the device known as a Subnet Node. The device acts as an ephemeral wireless access point that houses a file server. Several nodes will be at Defcon 33 during the playing set for the artist that provided the track, but only part of the playlist will reside on each Subnet Node. While this will take place at Defcon 33, this project is not affiliated with Defcon in any way.
WHAT TO DO:
Go to one of the listed artist's sets and search for the wireless access point "The Subnet". When you connect to the access point you should see the physical Subnet Node device blink green, if you connect to an access point called "The Subnet" but don't see the device flashing green you have likely connected to a rogue access point. Hackers gonna hack.
Once connected to a valid Subnet Node navigate to Http://TheSubnet.local to pull down the available tracks from the playlist. If you are connecting on a mobile device make sure you turn off your cellular data as it may interfere with connecting to the site. (It's always DNS)
